One of the simplest, yet deeply poignant and heart-wrenching emotions of the human soul, tears can fall for loss and gain. We have cried before and will cry again; but perhaps there's comfort in that.
Oh I love it, so good that you are writing about tears. So important and so denied at times. I cry often and it releaves, acknowledges, comforts, tells stories, adds emotion.
Also, I also cry when a good book ends, because I know I won’t be able to read it for the first time again.
Noah-ing. A perfect description of the effect. A post about tears is incredibly interesting, because it is one of those things we experience that just happens, and generally we don't give it a second thought. But the automatic response to emotion, and our response on whether to stem the tears or let them flow- profoundly fascinating. Thanks for giving me something to chew on awhile.
This is a lovely, thought provoking piece David. I think crying is such an important part of our being. It can be a great healer emotionally when in tough times, and in times of joy too. The end of a good book or film is guaranteed a tear or two from me. No matter how many times I watch Armageddon, I cry at the end. My husband too.
This is so beautiful, so much to reflect on. Music to me holds so many memories and I find I can be instantly transported back to a certain time and place with all the emotions that went with it. Shadows of the past and yet enough to start the tears. 🌱
Yes, that’s absolutely the same for me, and perhaps why I’ve always had such a keen (annoying?) sense of what speaks to me and what doesn’t (perhaps to the annoyance of my music teachers as a child 😂) ✨🌿 Thank you for reading 🙏🌱
Thanks for introducing me to this piece. I’m finding myself tearing up quite a bit lately, maybe because my emotions are living right below the surface with all the political goings-on in my country…I’ve always believed in the power of tears.
At my bakery, whenever we cut onions and we cried, I always said, “We must need this cry.”
For me, it’s the theme from Schindler’s List. I’ve actually never seen the film but every time I hear that piece of music, it brings me to tears. Somehow it captures the horror and pathos of what happened with the musical culture of a people and is really inspired (although, admittedly, I know nothing about music or how to compose!) It affects me every time though.

So true about a book, I’d never thought of that ✨ Thank you for reading 🙏🌿

Thank you so much for reading 🙏🌿
Molly and I are both criers. We are dreadful when we are together! Tis what it is though.
Nothing wrong with that 🌿

As Joni Mitchell said. Laughing and crying you know it's the same release.
Lovely sentiment ✨🌱

Yes, so true. I think there’s a lot of release to be found in tears ✨ Thank you for reading 🙏
A lovely post. I find tears so cleansing and always feel better when they flow, for joy or sadness. It's kind of like being in a flow state.
Yes, how lovely to think about the cleansing nature of tears ✨ Thank you for sharing 🙏🌱
I’ll have a listen to this later David. Such a lovely post.
Thank you 🙏🌿
Thank you for sharing that piece, Marc. The music goes so well with the images and plays well with the imagination.
One piece that gets me is the movie ending from "Never Cry Wolf." [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQa-dvlhjXc]

Likewise, I’ve never seen the film, but the music is somehow terribly evocative of that moment in time. Thank you for sharing 🙏🌿
