I really loved this, David. Thank you for these reflections - and for the shout out! I think that breaks in transmission can be so helpful sometimes - it truly makes you stop and realise just how much we rely on technology nowadays, or how easily we are drawn to it in a spare moment. I personally miss the days when power cuts were more of a thing - I do adore the idea of reading by candlelight/torchlight whilst waiting for the electricity to come back!

Thank you 🙏 Yes, and when I was growing up, they were fairly frequent…but we relied less on technology in those days 😂

Thank you for the mention David 🙏🏼. I resonate strongly with your closing thoughts about finding ways to deal with interruptions, whatever form they take. If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that interruptions are inevitable, and navigating them certainly feels like a life’s work.

Earlier in the Spring there was a power outage in my neighbourhood for 5 hours. Thankfully I had the work laptop battery fully charged and I could use my smartphone as a hotspot and continue to work from home. I struggled a bit with Teams meetings but it went fine, after work I simply read a book until it got dark. And thanks to my not too modern apartment, I could still cook using a lighter for the burners, while it wouldn't have been possible if I had one of those fancy electric stoves like all my friends have. In the beginning I was very frustrated about this power outage but I must confess that, in end, I even enjoyed this slower afternoon and evening!
