What will we leave behind? What will our legacy be? Ultimately, I don't think it's up to us to say, but we can be thankful for those who have left us inspired in our own lives, whose legacies live on.
Such a thoughtprovoking and beautiful reflection, David ✨ I've often thought about my legacy, the footprints that I'll leave behind, and it changes frequently and it's probably because I change and evolve myself. Legacies are created as we live and experience life, right? So like you, I will continue to do my best and trust my heart & instincts as much as I can. ✨🤗
A beautiful and heart felt piece, very thought provoking. What a question. What will our legacy be? I believe each of us as writers and creators are leaving behind a legacy that will live on forever, as those before us have done, in books and music, and art. Something for future generations to enjoy and ponder.
"So, what will our legacy be? Ultimately, I don’t think that’s for us to say. We can only do our best, making decisions based on what we know at any particular moment in time. Much of the rest is out of our hands."
A great post, David. I really enjoyed this particular part, as I'm prone to worry that all my mistakes and failures will deeply color the good I've managed to do or be. This is something that occurs to me quite frequently, that I don't have control over it- I can only do the best with what I have at the moment; and I can apologize or make right when I'm aware of it. There's a lot of trusting the process, in hoping for a positive legacy!
I am driven by my legacy. It fuels most of my big decisions in life and it also fuels my work as a teaching artist. It is not that I want any attention on me but I do want my legacy to be one that has has made a difference in a positive way. That and motherhood is what drives me.
I love this David. I’ve been thinking about legacy a lot lately. And I think it’s one of the drivers for why I write. Will the words I share touch others and cause a micro change in their own lives that continue to spread through a butterfly effect when I’m gone? I don’t think there’s ever an answer and you’re right, I don’t know that we can decide what our legacy is. Really enjoyed this thank you!
Interesting article in pondering our own mortality. Why was I put here on earth? What will last forever and what will fade away? I think music teachers bring a lot of joy to their students.

So agree with this ✨ Yes, it’s all part of the journey 🌿

I think we can do our best with what we know at any one time, and I think that’s the best legacy we can leave 🌿✨

I’m so glad this post spoke to you 🙏 Yes, we can only do what we can, and that’s a journey in itself ✨

I really love that because yes, legacy is important, but it doesn’t have to be about us ✨🌿
Indeed.

Thank you so much 🙏🌿 I so agree about writing, and maybe that’s a legacy in itself.
