Community is one of my values too. I have the feeling the people of the past took community as a vital part of their lives. I still believe it is much needed in our modern day times ✨

I believe we can and should incorporate the old with the new. The past teaches us so much and yet is so easily forgotten. As a craftswoman, I feel the history of my craft in my bones and that connection makes me better at what I do. Taking time to be in those places that carry on the old traditions reconnects us with our past. Thanks for the thoughts!

I too grew up in the industrial Midlands, but always longed for the country. Thank you very much for the introduction to this series, I didn't know of it and what a treasure it is.

Such wisdom here David. I love living in London but as I get older, I am feeling the indelible pull of the countryside more and more. When my husband asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday next week, all I really wanted was to spend a few days in the Cotswolds so I think there is something in what you say. Thank you for another lovely post and something to ponder. I wonder if I can still find that TV programme on a streaming platform somewhere.

Thank you 🙏 I’m so glad you enjoyed reading this 🌿 It looks like there are several episodes on YouTube, but I’m not sure you can access them other than on DVD. Such wonderful nostalgia fests though!
